You Were Made With Purpose & Made For More – by Amanda Chenai
We Are Creating A Space To Explore Purpose & Being Made For More
Hi, I’m Amanda Chenai. I’m a lover of God, traveling, food, and a good book! I’m also the founder of Femelle Soul, a Christian platform for women by women and I’m excited to be hanging out with you ladies at the Hope Table Sisterhood.
On September 14th, 2019 ‘MADE FOR MORE’ will be arriving in Birmingham and of course, you are invited! ‘MADE FOR MORE’ will focus on how we, as Christian women can live out our lives for the glory of God. We are creating a space where we can seek God’s face, as one, in unity, and be empowered and inspired to become all God has called us to be. We’ll be exploring the topic of ‘Purpose’ and being ‘MADE FOR MORE’. I’ll drop more details at the end of the post….first, though, I want to share my thoughts with you.
You Were Made With Purpose For A Purpose
God is intentional. That means He does things on purpose. The world, you and I were made with a purpose.
“God made everything with a place and purpose…” Proverbs 16:4
If we’re made with a purpose, it makes sense exploring what that purpose is, so we can make use of our lives whilst we’re here on earth.
As a Christian, your ‘overarching’ purpose is to glorify God. Our salvation is for God’s sake. He created us for his glory. Glory can be difficult to describe but the easiest definition for me to understand was when someone explained God’s glory as “His goodness. It’s the beauty and excellence of his perfections. It’s all his attributes in one.
”Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Isaiah 43:7
You Were Made For Detail
God is glorified in our lives when people see Him in us, that His glory might be known and praised. That moment when someone looks at your life, and they say “Woah, Gods amazing, only He can be the reason for X Y and Z.” That’s Him getting the glory.
Let your light so shine among men that they may see your good deeds and give glory to your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
God gives each of us various passions, skills, and gifts which we can use for His glory.
Sometimes it’s an obvious skill or talent like singing or playing an instrument or pastoral work, other times it’s hidden in your hobbies; painting, writing, blogging, being a good listener, a confident speaker, an encourager. These are all assets of our personalities that can be used to glorify our heavenly Father.
God has made us different for a reason. He’s intentionally designed us to be more effective at some things than at other things, more confident in doing some things rather than other things. And I believe that a lot of the time, your calling is probably hidden in your passion. It’s hidden in the detail.
For example, no-one could’ve ever told me my calling was in painting. I wasn’t and am not interested. But I’ve always known I liked writing. I just never knew I could write for God. Until now!
You Were Made For More
Right now, giving God the glory through my life comes through pouring into my blog, writing, posting and getting involved with my church. The Femelle Soul platform is all about inspiring other women to pursue God and find their joy, love, and purpose from Him because where there is no purpose, people can end up wasting their time and ultimately, their life.
Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:19).
And, you know, maybe my blog will never blow, but my prayer and intention are that it will inspire someone else to start a blog or step into their calling and purpose that will change the lives of thousands or millions. I’m happy with that. Because it’s not about me. It’s about Him in me, through me, getting the glory.
What are your thoughts on purpose? I really want to know, so why not pop your initial thoughts into the comments section below?
And of course, when you’re done, you can head over to Event Brite to book your ticket to our gathering of powerful women. Girl, we will be saving you a seat at the table on September 14th at Oikos Café, 58 High Street, Birmingham!
What a lovely community! This is so uplifting, thank you for sharing this and have an awesome event! <3
What a beautiful reminder of God’s purpose for our lives! We’re so easily distracted in this world. Amongst all of the chatter it can be hard to tune in and discover one’s purpose. It’s important to know that it’s intentional and from God! When we clear our lives of all the distractions and grow intimate with God revelation is easy.
Great post! Everyone can take something from this. We are made for more and we have so much potential! Thank you!
You have a great outlook on life! If every woman realized they were made for a reason and have a special mission while on earth, the world would be such a better place. Thanks for your inspiration!
Love this. We truly are made for a purpose. Thank you for all these reminders! I hope the event is amazing.
“God is glorified in our lives when people see Him in us, that His glory might be known and praised.”
This is my prayer! I share this with my kids frequently. 🙂
Love this and the verses you used! Makes me wish I lived closer to Birmingham 🙂
I do believe everyone has a purpose for their lives. Good luck with the sisterhood and the upcoming event! I know it will serve a great purpose 🙂
What an inspiring and motivating article! I don’t think enough people really allow themselves to try to navigate what their purpose may be. We all tend to have something that we are really good at that can help others, but not everyone acts on this. Thanks for sharing!
although I follow a different religion, but our principles are exactly the same !God love us and we are here for a purpose! loved the post ! keep it up !
Do you do events in London too? If yes, I’m so there!
I’m currently reading Rick Warren’s – A Purpose Driven Life as I’m on a journey to discovering God’s purpose for me.
Looks like it’ll be an amazing event!x
This is beautiful! I wish I could make it to the event!
It excites me to know that we are exploring our God given purpose. This subject is not talked about enough. Anyway, about 2 years ago I was taught that the absence of purpose brings loneliness. And just to add I am really looking forward to the 14th and have already purchased my ticket!
What a great reminder! The world needs more well written Christian articles to share truth. (I’m also one of those who is definitely not an artist, painter, design person… give me a computer/keyboard, or a pen and paper anyday!) ?
Love this! Great read, I’m so excited for the event! ?? We truly have been ‘Made For More’!
I love this Amanda. So happy have you featuring on The Hope Table Sisterhood Blog & I love that you are walking in your God-given purpose and then facilitating an environment and leading a ministry that encourage other women to walk in theirs. I totally agree with you that God created us all on purpose and with a purpose, and when we walk in it, more people will hopefully look to God to find theirs. Keep up the kingdom work girl.
What an awesome conference. I love the idea that we have a specific purpose that God has designed for us and called us to do. It definitely pushes us out of our comfort zone and requires relying on the direction we get from Him.
