101 Things to Do (With or Without The Kids) When You Feel Stuck At Home

Finding Hope Regardless of What We See & Hear

At the beginning of 2020, we declared the core theme for The Hope Table Sisterhood would be ‘friendship’. The problem is most of us can’t even see or visit our friends right now! With countries slowly clamping into lockdown, kids being sent home from school, people being told to self-isolate and advised get to grips with social-distancing for the foreseeable future, we might not have the joy of entertaining one another in-person for a while.

Do you know anyone that sees the idea of being ‘stuck at home’ as doom and gloom? Well, I do!

But what if we changed our mindset by instead making the most of this precious time we have at home, in a world that usually operates at a breakneck pace? Isn’t there enough doom and gloom in the world right now without looking at being at home as being in prison? As women of God, despite what we see with our eyes, in our hearts, we can dig down, find hope and share it with those around us! For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment. 2 Timothy 1:7

Friendship Can Start at Home

Many of us look at friendship building as something that happens with those outside of the family home. But what about using this time to build our friendship with our kids, our partners and ourselves. Maybe this is an opportunity to kick start your spiritual life and rekindle that friendship with God too.

Maybe you’ve been given time off, or you’re working from home, or your office or school is in complete shutdown. Whatever the reason, it’s bought us time, to do things we don’t always have time to do during the usual rat race!

Now my darling husband and I are very different, he can quickly get bored if his routine gets thrown off course -I can easily say that weeks at home wouldn’t be a comfortable bag for him! I, on the other hand, NEVER get bored! Being a creative, mum, wife, blogger and business owner with a housework list as long as a broomstick, I don’t do boredom!

So, I’ve thrown together a list of ideas to get us going. Things we can do alone or jointly! First, there’s a list for you and then one for you and the kiddos. Enjoy and make sure you share with another soul feeling ‘stuck’ at home 🙂 #BeBlessed

Things to do when Coronavirus leaves you feeling stuck at home

Whatever we do or don’t do, let’s make the most of those around us and use technology to connect with those that may not have anyone around them. No one loves to be in such an unsure scenario, but let’s make the most of the time we have been afforded. Let’s pray for those on the frontline that can’t be home with family right now, those  who are unwell and for better days to come. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift – that’s why it’s called the present.

Let us know in the comments what you’ve been up to!
