Glorifying God in our daily lives, what does that look like? How do we do it? Is that even possible?

Well friend, I’m here to tell you it is possible. Today we are going to look at 3 ways we can give God glory every day.

1 - Prayer

Prayer is something that can easily be turned into a selfish act. I often find myself praying for my desires, what I want in the moment that I forget to ask God what He wants. Prayer is one of the ways we communicate with God, but it isn’t communication if we don’t allow Him to speak. So while yes, we submit our request to God in prayer, let us at least give Him the final say. Let us give up our will in exchange for His knowing that His will is perfect.

“Nevertheless not our will Lord, but Yours be done, Amen.”

Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. Luke 22:4

2 - In the hard seasons/trails

We all have good and bad seasons. I think we all can admit that we would avoid the bad seasons if we had a choice. No one wants to go through hard times willingly, but it’s unavoidable, especially as Christians. The minute we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior is the minute we have an enemy that will do anything to take our eyes off of Jesus. Difficult seasons may produce things like worry, fear, anxious thoughts and/or actions and little by little we slowly take our attention off of Christ and focus it on the problem.

This reminds me of Peter walking on water. When the disciples were in the boat, and they realized it was Jesus, Peter asked Jesus to let him come out on the water and Jesus told him to come. He stepped out and started walking but the wind caught him off guard and he took his mind off of Jesus and replaced it with fear, worry, doubt and as a result he began to sink. After Jesus reached out and grabbed him He asked “…why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:22-33) Why do we doubt? Why do we take our eyes off of Him?

Truly it’s easier said than done but we give God glory when we praise Him anyway, no matter how rough the waters get. He gets the glory when we trust Him completely despite the outcome.

3 - In everything!

That’s right, everything. Laundry, cooking, eating, working out, school studies, drinking water….everything. We were created for God’s glory so everything we do should be for His glory. Do you hydrate your body? That’s a part of taking care of your body and your body is a temple of God, that’s giving Him glory. Are you honest in your school studies? No one may notice, but that is a way of giving God glory. Instead of cheating you decide to live by integrity. Do you thank Jesus everyday for what you have? That’s giving Him glory too. You’re thanking the source for the resources He has blessed you with. Are you doing the best you can to please God everyday? That’s a way of giving Him glory.

1 Corinthians 10:31 – Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

In conclusion...

Well friends, I hope you got some encouragement and/or motivation from reading this article. I pray that you’ll aim to glorify Christ in your daily lives going forward. I love each and every one of you, but most importantly Jesus loves you.
