I had a discussion with my doctor and he said that a way to show true friendship and trust is by inviting someone you consider a friend to your home. I was in awe because it never really crossed my mind that showing true hospitality including opening up your home to others. Wonderful post

In all honesty, I wonder if I even want company anymore, (get ready for all my excuses;) ) I think my perfectionist side is definitely my biggest obstacle to company coming over. Thanks for the advice I will have to try to lighten up a bit.

Yes! Some of the most meaningful times of fellowship we’ve had were when friends spontaneously invited us into their homes, messy, offering nothing but a glass of water or a bowl of canned tomato soup. We felt welcomed and loved. I’m still learning to let go of my own perfectionist tendencies and relax and just love people.
